I am excited to serve as the president of SDSL for a second time. Since moving to San Diego from New York in 2015, this club has shaped my life and also my surfing. Because of this club, my surfing has grown exponentially and I have developed lifelong friendships and connections. I am excited to grow new partnerships for the club and also to provide learning opportunities to members to be able to improve their surf skills, in addition to more opportunities to build connections outside of the water. We are lucky to have such a strong sisterhood of surfers in San Diego.
I have always loved all water-related sports, but growing up in Illinois I could only dream of one day being able to surf. It took me 39 years to finally land myself in a coastal town and begin my childhood dream. I joined SDSL as soon as I moved to San Diego in 2015 and owe so much of my surfing journey to this club. I am excited to serve as VP and provide the same amount of service and stoke to others on their surf journeys.
For 14 years, I worked my way West from Minnesota to Montana, then Washington State, exploring and falling in love with the mountains by snowboard. A few years ago, I started working my way South to Imperial Beach, still exploring the mountains by snowboard (I love the Sierras!) and also adding some surfboards to the mix to explore the Pacific Ocean. I really got into surfing when I joined SDSL, as I was inspired by all the shredders and taken in by all the kind and wonderful women of SDSL!
I studied Chemical and Biological Engineering and got my MBA focused on Sustainability and Finance, which means I am a complete nerd and excited to learn all I can about being your Treasurer! You can find me biking to the breaks in Imperial Beach whenever it is clean enough, but I also love exploring new areas, including a Baja weekender last year and a surf camp in Bali a couple years ago. If I'm not nerding out or on a board, you will likely find me gardening, camping, or singing off-tune with my dog Kujo while he helps me with house projects.
I’m excited to re-ignite the stoke this year with SDSL as the Secretary, with a focus to improve our surfing abilities and connect our surf seasters together. I started surfing in 2018, shortly after moving to San Diego, and have been on this crazy roller coaster of an adventure learning the sport ever since. I live in PB and work in marketing for an accounting firm. Weekdays you can find me at Tourmo for dawn patrol on my 8’6” and checking out new breaks on the weekends. Feel free to reach out with ideas, questions or just to say "hi"!
